Fay Lai

With a lifetime of experience in the equine industry, Fay is an experienced rider having competed nationally at Prix St George and Inter 1 Level Dressage riding. Fay has a passion for teaching and has now opened Coombe Stables for lessons for all levels of rider.

Fay has been my riding instructor for a few years as I met her before COVID. After a break from having lessons, I returned, and soon after a discussion around art and photography, Fay approached me to draw some of the horses at Coombe stables. Amongst all the things Fay has taught me from my lessons; gentle hands, position, ankles down - there’s more layers to riding, like confidence, planning, and strength. This opportunity has given me the motivation to pursue art seriously and put into action those qualities, like having the confidence to dive in and trust myself. And for that, I’m so grateful.
